Mark: I’ve heard that when you were younger you had the nickname Squiggles.
Billy: Yeah, my parents gave me that name.
Mark: Could you tell us about it?
Billy: When I was born I was ten months premature and resembled a jellyfish. So my parents
called me Squiggles because I looked more like a Squiggles than a William. They called me this
until I was about forty and didn’t look so jellyfishish anymore.
Billy: I’m sure you can imagine my surprise when I found out my name was really William and
not Squiggles. I had built my entire life and persona around that name. It was tough but I’ve
finally adjusted to it.
Billy: Sometimes I’ll sit in a dark room by myself and go like this *makes funny face* and I get
in touch with my inner jellyfish. I still feel very close to him.
